Hi there! I hope you’re all having a good week and finding a way to squeeze in your workouts. I know it’s hard, but I find that I feel so much better when I make time to “push play” and get in my favorite form of “me time.” I know… I’m one of those people that really do love working out. If you were hanging out with Shaun T for 25 minutes every day you would probably enjoy it too! & then you’d also be in awesome shape. It’s a win win.
Like I mentioned last week I’m going to be giving a recap of my thoughts/feelings for each week of each phase and then also highlighting a specific video each week. It works out that there are as many weeks as there are different videos.
Let’s dive in shall we?
Week 1 thoughts.
First of all, this first week of Focus T25 definitely felt easier to me than any week of Insanity Max 30. For real. I figured that it would feel easier just simply because I was in better shape but I was surprised at how “easy” it felt because I know it isn’t easy and I definitely know I’m being pushed throughout the workout. Especially during the burnout minutes – which do remind me of Insanity Max 30. At least, I try to go to my “max” during the burnout just because I know I can go that hard for the few minutes of the burnout. One big difference I did notice which I do attribute to my Insanity experience is that I didn’t even follow the modifier for one exercise all week. That’s how I know I’ve progressed from even when I was doing T25 before I started Insanity Max.
Program Highlight: Speed 1.0
In my opinion, this is one of the slower T25 workouts in this program. Don’t get me wrong – it’s a good workout. But the main focus of this program is to focus on speed, strength, and stability. During the first half (15ish minutes) of the workout you do an exercise move (for the speed and strength) and then you do a stretch move (for the stability). Next up is the burnout. If you thought the first half was slow Shaun T definitely makes up for it with an 8 minute burnout where you do all those exercises you just finished minus the stretches in between. Like to sweat? You’ll get your sweat in during these 8 minutes for sure! The last minute is all about stability and you do some stabilizing moves to really focus on your core + stability. The first time I did this one I remember not really enjoying it because it felt a little too slow for me, but the more I’ve done it the more I do like it.
